Wierd weather

Posted by kim @ 6:51pm

I haven't written for quite a while, and that's mostly because there hasn't been anything worth noting in the weather so far, but now there is. The weather had been .. ah .. rather strange lately. If fact, you'd be forgiven for thinking that we'd skipped summer and gone back to winter. Christmas day has always been a scorcher; it just wouldn't be Christmas if it wasn't stinking hot. But this year .. well, it was humid enough but it would have been lucky to make it to the mid to high 20s. Christmas Eve day was cool and it was cool and wet yesterday and today, and is predicted to be for the next few days until this band of cloud clears us. In fact, yesterday reported broke previous December low temps, and today broke them again.

I really do think that its forgotten to have Summer this year. With the exception of a few 'warm' days in November, where it got up to 30C, we haven't had any days yet that have told us 'yep, we're in summer now'. We've had a few muggy days, but max temps haven't gotten above the high 20s. And to think that we were breaking record highs a few years back, with days topping 42 and 43C.

I'm not really complaining; I'd rather it be cool and wet than scorchingly hot, but this is getting a little wierd. I mean, parts of Victoria and Tasmania even had a white christmas this year!
